Engineering

For more than 40 years, the company H. Schroeder GmbH has been developing systems for the areas of shipbuilding and marine technology, port and cargo handling technology, hydraulic engineering as well as systems for the aerospace industry. Our design department employs 3D and various FEM calculation programs.

In addition to classic development and construction services, we offer the entire range of project management services to our customers, from project development via construction, calculation, building supervision and documentation to the final approval.

We support our customers in solving their problems from the very first step on. Based on the requirements of our customers, we sketch initial solution concepts and ideas and follow up on them, if required. Being involved in a project from the very beginning allows us to achieve optimum results regarding functionality, manufacturing costs and deadlines.

We design our projects preferably in 3D.
The advantages are that the generation of workshop and production drawings is facilitated and that parts lists can be generated automatically. Motion and movement sequences are easy to simulate, which provides further assurance that the final product will actually function as intended. Interfaces allow for importing 3D-models into FEM calculation programs. Drawing on our close co-operation with the production side, we have practical experience in developing designs suitable for production, which allows for cost-effective manufacturing.

If desired, we will supervise the building and production process for our customers. Hereby, the production and completion status is documented continuously. We also assist our customers with getting approvals and permits by legal authorities, the TÜV and classification societies.

In accordance with shipowners and insurance companies, we determine cargo securing measures for project cargoes on sea vessel, e.g. container gantries or pre-produced and assembled industrial plants. We also supervise and document the cargo loading and securing measures.

Weight per unit 380 t, Ø 12m, width approx. 6 m. The forces exerted upon the vessel at sea, including sailing round Cape Horn, were calculated. A mixed FEM shell/beam model was used to prove that the bearing capacity of the hatch structure and the necessary stiffeners were sufficient.

Für das ATV, eine Versorgungs-plattform für die Internationale Raumstation ISS, wurde von uns die Entwicklung, Konstruktion, Berechnung, CE-konforme Dokumentation eines ATV-Lifting Pad erfolgreich gegen 5 konkurrierende europaweite Entwicklungsbüros durchgeführt. Nachdem sich unser Konzept, unter den gestellten Randbedingungen, extrem wenig Bauraum bei gleichzeitig hohen Ansprüchen an die Steifigkeit, durchsetzen konnte, wurde dieses von uns erfolgreich gefertigt.
